We respect Gold Stars but will show them something on the pitch on Sunday – Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak legend Amankwah Mireku has lamented the perceived lack of pressure on current players to deliver results, contrasting the team’s current atmosphere with the intense expectations of previous seasons.

He noted that the weight of fan expectations, which used to drive players to extraordinary performances, seems to have diminished.

Speaking ahead of Hearts of Oak super clash against rivals Asante Kotoko this Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Amankwa Mireku, pointed out that the energy in the stands reflected the dwindling interest from fans, with far fewer supporters attending matches than in the club’s glory days.

Hearts of Oak will look to build on their recent impressive form after losing just a game in their last 10 matches in all competitions as they face Asante Kotoko in their next fixture. They lay 6th on the League Log with 19 points after match day 12 while Asante Kotoko are also 7th with 18 points.
