Hearts of Oak striker Joseph Esso has left the club together with four players, after they failed to extend their contracts.
The Ghanaian giants announced that Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Aboubacar Traoré, Bernard Arthur and Joseph Esso have parted ways with the club.
A statement from the club read, “management has met players Joseph Esso, Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Bernard Arthur and Abubakar Troare and thanked them for their services as both sides opted not to extend their contracts. We wish them the very best of luck in their respective careers”.
Esso is leaving Hearts of Oak because the club couldn’t meet his demands for a contract extension as he wanted GhC150,000 as signing on fee while the Rainbow club was offering GhC90,000.
Agyare, Bonney, Arthur and Traoré made a combined 14 appearances for the Phobians in the 2019/2020 campaign.
Esso also scored just three goals in 14 appearances in the season for Hearts of Oak.
