Vincent Sowah Odotei, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has dismissed claims of negative publicity surrounding the club and highlighted the positive strides made by its players.
Addressing criticisms from former coach Martin Koopman, Sowah emphasized the club’s dedication to the well-being and prosperity of its players. Speaking after the club’s meet the press, he stated, “Our players, who hadn’t ventured outside Ghana previously, are now building houses and purchasing cars. They receive competitive salaries, and we prioritize their welfare. I recall a video circulating before the season, showcasing Hearts of Oak players arriving at their hostel with their cars.”
Sowah’s comments come amid a challenging season for the capital giants, currently holding the 8th position with 16 points, struggling with consistency.
The upcoming Super Clash between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, set for this Sunday at The Baba Yara Stadium, promises an exciting match.
Despite the team’s current performance, Sowah remains optimistic about the club’s future, underscoring the significance of player welfare and development.
