Hearts of Oak NCC PRO Kobby Jones urges unity among all stakeholders ahead of upcoming Season

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Hearts of Oak, Kobby Jones has called for unity among all stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of solidarity as the club prepares for the new season.

Mr. Kobby Jones, conveyed this message during an interview on Happy FM’s Happy Sports.

“The new technical team assembled looks exciting and we are looking forward to the new season. Both the Technical director and new coach are Dutch men and I believe they share the same philosophy; so we are looking forward to the new season”.

He further implored the club’s supporters and stakeholders to set aside any differences and rally behind the team as the new season approaches.

He stressed that unity is the most crucial factor in propelling the club forward. “I will plead with the supporters of the club and stakeholders to come together in unity as the new season approaches. That is the best way we can move forward as a club. We should put our differences aside and support the team, that is what the new technical team needs right now,” Jones emphasized.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season, the 2020/21 champions have introduced Dutch coach Martin Koopman as their new head coach.

Koopman, formerly in charge of the Maldives national team, was introduced to the players during a recent training session. The team showcased their prowess with an impressive 11-1 victory over lower-tier side Miracle Land FC in a preseason match.

This coaching appointment comes after the departure of the previous coach, Matic, who left due to a series of disappointing results. David Ocloo, the former assistant coach, temporarily took the reins but has since parted ways with the club after guiding them to a 12th-place finish last season.

With a wealth of experience, including managing teams like AS Vita Club, FC Den Bosch, and BV Veendam, as well as national teams such as Aruba and Saudi Arabia, the 67-year-old former Netherlands defender, Koopman, brings a seasoned touch to Hearts of Oak’s leadership.

Hearts of Oak will open their 2023/24 GPL campaign when they go away to Real Tamale United next month.
