Karela United FC are accusing Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak of illegally signing their player Dominic Eshun.
The Phobians announced the signing of the winger on a long-term deal on Tuesday.
Communications Director of Karela United, Eric Alagidede told Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports that they are unaware of doing business with the Phobians.
He said: “Karela FC wasn’t approached by Hearts of Oak. There was no official communication between us and Hearts of Oak. We only saw the pictures and read the news on Twitter.”
“None of Karela FC management were approached by Hearts of Oak. I’m saying that on authority.”
“He signed for us on 1st December 2017 and the contract will expire on 30th November 2019. So how can he be a free player. Apparently the player said he gave his contract to his manager when he signed for Karela FC.”
“The player claimed he signed one-and-a-half-year deal with Karela which is not true because we [Karela FC] don’t sign players on short term deals.”
“According to Hearts of Oak, the player brought a copy of his contract with Karela that shows that his contract with us has expired. Even if that’s the case, why didn’t they approach us or the GFA to find out?
Eshun previously played for Medeama SC before the Nzema based side in 2017.
