Hearts of Oak head coach, Slavko Matic, accused Bibiani Gold Stars of resorting to match wasting tactics against his side in the betPawa Ghana Premier League match day four.
The Phobians rallied from behind to pick up their first win of the season as they defeated The Miners 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Prince Kwabena Owusu scored the opening goal of the game in the 10th minute to put Bibiani Gold Stars in the lead.
The forward noticed Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi had come off his line and scored from a long range with a curler.
Bibiani Gold Stars held Hearts of Oak until they were reduced to 10-men after goalkeeper Joseph Baah was sent off.
Coach Matic changed his tactics and made three substitutions which helped Hearts of Oak to start the comeback.
Isaac Mensah got the equalizer before Gladson Awako scored a beautiful free kick to win the game for defending MTN FA Cup champions.
Speaking after the game, Coach Slavko Matic accused his opponents of playing anti-football.
“You saw Bibiani from the first minute they start to waste time. Anti-football, they started wasting our time. We didn’t play today 40 minutes total, anti-football. I think football win today and the character of my players,” Coach Slavko Matic told StarTimes.
“Before this game they feel pressure of course and when you concede this cheap goal something will be more difficult for us. But I think we had a good game. After the game we immediately changed formation from 4-4-2 to 3-3-4. Tactically we made good things and the most important thing is my players they have big wish to win. We must continue to work harder because every game will be difficult,” he added.
The Serbian coach also thanked the supporters who came to the stadium to support the team to victory.
Match day four fixtures continues today with Asante Kotoko and King Faisal facing off in the Kumasi derby at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
King Faisal will be looking forward to their first win of the season whilst Asante Kotoko targets another win after defeating Nsoatreman at the same venue.
