Hearts can win league title, it’s up to the players- Amankwah Mireku

Hearts of Oak legend, Amankwah Mireku, says the current squad can end the team’s league title drought if they maintain their consistency in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians have not won the league title since 2009 and have been tipped as favorites this season.

Hearts of Oak are in a good run of form in the ongoing campaign under Coach Samuel Boadu.
The team is currently placed second with 43 points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko with just a two-point difference.

Amankwah Mireku in an interview on Wamputu Sports with Odiasempa Kwame Oware stated it’s up to the players to win the league title for the club.

“Looking at how things are going the players can win the league. Their fate is in their hands. It is possible for them to win the league. They must work hard as a team and also have it in mind that winning the league will make them legends”, he advised the players.

“It’s up to them to win the title not the coach or anybody else. Look at where they were on the league table and now they are second on the league log it’s possible”

Hearts of Oak will play against Techiman Eleven Wonders on Friday at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in their next game.
A win will see them go on top of the league table should Asante Kotoko drop points this weekend.
