#HappyDialogues: Our Mobile library van services are always available to serve-GLA

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Library Authority, Hayford Siaw, has asserted that currently, mobile library van services are readily available to serve all Ghanaians especially those living in the rural parts of the country.

He disclosed this during the maiden edition of the Happy Development Dialogues.

According to him, all the 10 former regions across the country have these vans and are ready to go out and render service to whoever is in need of it.

Speaking at the forum on Happy 98.9 FM’s maiden edition of the Happy Development Dialogues under their Epahoa Daben Show he shared, “If you want the vans to come to your district, you can just contact any regional library you know and invite them to make some resources available to you”.

He disclosed that, this initiative was put together to help those in the rural areas especially as most of them are unable to access libraries around them.

Talking about some structures they have in place to support visually impaired students he mentioned that, “we also have braille materials to help with the visually impaired students”.

Siaw also mentioned that, “right now, people can get a lot of content on their phones. We have a lot of videos and tutorials that can help people access anything they want to find in a library without necessarily being in the library”.

He also urged schools and people interested in their services, “If you don’t have access to the mobile van or the static library you can download our app to have access to our content so that we read for the development of the country”.
