Ghana’s number one radio station, Happy 98.9FM on Thursday December 19, 2019 will once again take its programming to traders and drivers in and around the Neoplan Station in Accra.

The community engagement programme dubbed ‘Happy On Wheels’ which started earlier this year at the Neoplan Station, Circle, has been seen fit to climax the year at its first point of start.

The ‘Happy On Wheels’ initiative is targeted at promoting community engagement by directly engaging loyal listeners of Happy FM in their communities.

Programmes on Happy FM – ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’, ‘Nsem Pii’, ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ and ‘Wamputu Sports’ will run live from the Neoplan Station at Circle in Accra. It is going to be a great opportunity for traders and drivers in and around the station to interact with their favourite Happy FM presenters and producers. The last edition of Happy On Wheels will see an addition to programming.

In line with the 2019 Road Safety Campaign by the National Road Safety Commission Authority (NRSA), Happy 98.9 FM will start the Ghana Drivers Summit Campaign which seeks to educate road users on the safety measures to abide by during the festive season.

The 2019 Road Safety Christmas Campaign dubbed “Stop Road Accidents Now, Before it stops You”, was launched in the month of November to outdoor key actions aimed at reducing the risk to road traffic crashes and casualties often associated with the festive season.

Happy FM, as part of its corporate social responsibility activities aims to support the road safety campaign by enlightening loyal listeners and road users with the dos and don’ts in terms of road safety during the festive season. Road safety tips from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department, the National Road Safety Commission and other stakeholders will help to make the celebration of this festive season an accident-free.

Programmes Manager for Happy 98.9FM, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah speaking about the summit asserted that, “We are not just hosting the Ghana Drivers Summit at the Neoplan Station because we started there, but because of its proximity to most bus depots in the country. That informed our decision to hold the summit there. It will be quite easier to engage, educate drivers and passengers on safe driving tips and precautions to take to ensure an accident-free Christmas.”

“Road accidents have become a norm during festive seasons in our motherland which is really sad. Festive seasons now turn to sad ones because of high incidences of road carnages and this affects most families. The purpose of the Ghana Drivers Summit is to inform and educate drivers and road users on the importance on safe driving”, he said.

He urged all listeners to join Happy FM on the 19th of December at the Neoplan Station to interact with the Happy FM team.
