Happy on Wheels electrifies Rawlings Park

Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, as part of its efforts to engage its listeners, on Wednesday, moved its programming to the Rawlings Park in Accra through the stations’ ‘Happy on Wheels’ campaign.

Happy on Wheels is a project that seeks to involve the local community and to also advance the culture of inclusion of the ordinary Ghanaian through the community radio project.

Happy FM ran its Anopa Bosuo Sports’, ‘Nsem Pii’, ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ and ‘Wamputu Sports’ shows live from Rawlings Park. The station provided the opportunity for traders at the Rawlings Park and its environs to contribute on their favourite Happy FM shows.

The OB started with Anopa Bosuo which gave the opportunity to sports enthusiasts to share their thoughts on the named Black Stars squad to face South Africa and São Tomé in the AFCON 2021 qualifier to be played next month. Most traders took the opportunity to criticise the Black Stars on their poor performance over the past years.

An elated member of the audience who gave his name as Nana Kofi Asare said, ‘’ I am happy to see Happy FM at Rawlings Park. I always listen to the station and have always wanted to interact with hosts and producers. It was great seeing and being a part of the show today”.

Kofi Appiah, who joined Happy On wheels on Facebook live, also said ‘’I am watching you live from Ablekuma and I can’t wait for Happy on Wheels to get to my community.”

The host of Nsem Pii, Pastor Nyansa Boakwa took over from the Anopa Bosuo team and ushered the audience into a moment of worship with gospel musician, Nhyira Betty. It was a sight to behold as men and women praised the Lord.

Happy FM’s political show, ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ saw fierce opinions form members of various political parties. Some of whom commended the current government for the good work done whilst others also heavily criticised it.

A critic of the current Government, Hajia Kande said, “I can’t really pinpoint what this Government has done. The free Senior High School they claim is free is actually not free. I know people who still spend a lot on their kids before they go to school.

Present at the Happy On Wheels-Rawlings Park edition, pogrammes Manager of Happy FM, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah highly commended the traders of Rawlings Park for their level of engagement and for submitting their candid opinion.
“I say thank you to the Traders of Rawlings Park for receiving us warmly and for being highly opinionated. Our aim is to make several stops around the country. To know where our next stop will be, I urge everyone to keep listening to Happy 98.9 FM” he said.
