Happy 98.9 FM has finally outdoored the much-anticipated social event on Ghana’s event calendar, the Happy FM Mass Wedding.

The station’s corporate social responsibility activity, Happy FM Mass Wedding is a fully funded community investment event which supports couples to cement their relationship by organizing a talk of the town wedding ceremony for them.

Happy 98.9 FM takes up the role of the family and friends by pitching in and providing all the necessary resources needed to organize the wedding ceremony for these couples.

Member of the Happy FM Mass Wedding, DJ Advicer speaking at the launch on the ‘Nsem Pii’ show hosted by Rev Nyansa Boakwa stated, “14 years ago we started the Happy FM Mass Wedding which has been a blessing to us as organizers and beneficiaries as well. Listeners should know that some women think they have been taken for granted when you don’t perform their marriage rites. But as a man, it may be because of limited funds. And this is where the Happy FM Mass Wedding becomes your cushion for a stress-free wedding ceremony.

He furthered that, Happy FM provides couples with a wholesome wedding. “From clothes to counselling, to the reception, you name it. Happy FM will sponsor all of these. We will also take you through the registration process to validate your wedding under the law and in the sight of the Lord”.

Mama Ellen who has been part of the counselling team for the Happy FM Mass Wedding since its inception also added that it is not late for couples with children to join the Mass Wedding train. “You can now marry, bless your union and live together as a lovely family”.

Advising couples to join the Happy FM Mass Wedding, she indicated that the counselling session for the 2021 mass wedding will be a spectacular one. “The mass wedding counselling enlightens you and changes your unhealthy opinion about marriage and your spouse”.

On her authority, her counselling team will lay bare many lessons learnt from resolving several marital issues over the lockdown period that will bring harmony into the marriages of couples, especially the younger ones.

She recommended the counselling session to already married couples saying, “Marriage is a lifelong learning process”.

Commenting on the activity, Programmes Manager (PM) of Happy FM, Emmanuel Akrumah explained that the mass wedding will take couples through a stress-free and rewarding ceremony and advised heads of churches to encourage their congregation to join the ceremony.

Talking about some benefits to be enjoyed by participants in the Happy FM Mass Wedding, PM indicated that each couple will receive a cake and the best couple will be gifted with an all-expense paid honeymoon to a predetermined destination.

You do not need to borrow huge sums to organize a flashy wedding, join the Happy Mass Wedding train by signing up with only Gh₵500 as a commitment fee to get your wedding sponsored.

The best couple for the 2020 mass wedding, indicated that they had a great time at the Accra City Hotel on their honeymoon where they enjoyed everything for free. Mrs. Otis Asabre speaking on behalf of her family advised young couples to sign up for the Happy FM Mass Wedding which happens on the 14th of February each year.

Would-be couples are required to pick up forms at the front desks of any Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Corporation branch (Happy FM, e .TV Ghana at Asylum Down or YFM, Accra Mall).

The team acknowledged Aliqua Home of Fashion, Erata Hotel, Nkulenu Foods, A E House of Suits, Cleaver House, Lizzy Tomato Mix, Best Western Plus Hotel, National Theatre, 2nd Image, Anointed Lady, Perception Management International and Artist Pizza for sponsoring the 2020 Happy FM Valentine Mass Wedding.
