Wa All stars enterprising right full back, Hafiz Adams says fatigue their defeat against Sekondi Hasaacas in the final game of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Having been declared winners of the 2016 GPL season prior to the dead rubber encounter against the already relegated Sekondi Hasaacas, Wa All stars’ Coach Enos Adepa made six changes to the side that beat Aduana stars in midweek to clinch the league title, and they suffered the effects of those changes as they succumbed to a 3 nil defeat at the Sekondi sports stadium.
And as question was posed to the title winning captain of the side, Hafiz Adams on whether the usage of the fringe players cause them the heavy defeat against the beleaguered Sekondi Hasaacas.
“No, I don’t think so because looking at the movement we’be made since last week, where we played on Sunday, Wednesday at home before traveling to play this match. I can say we are the most travelled tram in the league, therefore I think this defeat was down to fatigue.”
“We’re not down hearted by the scoreline because all that mattered was to win the title and that’s exactly what we have to appreciate and give thanks to the efforts we the players put in making sure we achieve this feat, and not forgetting the management for their infinite support throughout the season.”
Wa All stars made history by becoming the first club the Northern region to win the Ghana Premier League after finishing the season with 51 points from 30 matches.
