Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has revealed that the target for the 2024 Green Ghana Day is to plant 10 million new trees.The 2024 Green Ghana Day is on the theme “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow will be held at the Burma Camp in Accra on Friday, June 7, 2024, to help the fight against climate change and ensure sustainability.“The target this year is to plant 10 million trees and it is our wish that we will be able to plant more than 10 million trees like we did in 2023 where we exceeded our target and planted additional 700 trees,” “We will plant different types of trees like Timber spices, Wawa, Rosewood, Mango and all kinds of different trees,” Samuel Abu Jinapor said at a press briefing on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.He also urged the public to join forces with the Ministry to undertake this exercise because this goes beyond political colors.“We are doing this to help Ghana because we have lost a lot of our forest so it is important for all of us to take part because this goes beyond politics. All our leaders will join so we should also join the leaders to achieve this feat.”
