Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has revealed the budget for 2024 Green Ghana Day and the total amount government has spent on the program since 2021.According to him, majority of the Green Ghana Day activities are funded by Corporate Ghana and other Non-Governmental Organizations thus reducing the burden on government.He revealed that government has spent GH₵6.5 million on the program and is expected to spend additional GH₵1.5 million on the 2024 Green Ghana Day making the total amount GH₵8 million.“A lot of the funding for the Green Ghana Day are gotten from Non-Governmental Organizations as well as Corporate Ghana and that’s is why every year I go round to secure funding from private corporations because I believe we don’t have to put the entire burden on our national pause.”“The report I have here is that government in 2021 disbursed GH₵2 million, GH₵2 million in 2022, GH₵2.5 million in 2023 and GH₵1.5 million will be disbursed for the 2024 Green Ghana Day by government to support to program.The 2024 Green Ghana Day is on the theme “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow will be held at the Burma Camp in Accra on Friday, June 7, 2024, to help the fight against climate change and sustainability.
