Johnson Oduro, an aspirant for the position of Greater Accra Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairman, has boldly pledged to tackle the longstanding issue of hooliganism within the football community if he secures the upcoming election.
“Hooliganism has been a major problem in our region for a very long time, but to a larger extent, it has reduced. However, under my tenure, it would be totally eradicated,” Oduro asserted in an exclusive interview with Wamputu Sports.
With an unwavering determination to restore the reputation of the Greater Accra RFA, he emphasized, “The Greater Accra regional football Association is supposed to be the beacon of hope for other regions, but sadly that hasn’t been the situation.”
The Ghana Football Association’s Elections Committee recently unveiled the list of candidates who submitted their nomination forms to vie for various positions in the impending GFA elections.
Among these contenders, John Oduro emerged as a formidable figure set to contest Samuel Aboabire for the coveted Greater Accra RFA Chairmanship seat.
The Election Committee is set to meticulously review the received nomination forms, a crucial step that will pave the way for the subsequent vetting process, in accordance with the outlined roadmap.
Once this evaluation is complete, the time and venue for the vetting session will be determined.
The stakes are high as John Oduro, armed with a vision for transformation and a commitment to extinguish the flames of hooliganism, has secured a spot on the final list of applicants released by the GFA.
The Accra Sports Stadium would be the place to be where crucial elections are set to take place on September 9, 2023.
