Former Great Olympics striker, Maxwell Abbey Quaye, has joined city-rivals Hearts of Oak.

Abbey Quaye switched carpets to join The Phobians on the transfer deadline day after signing a three-year deal.

However, his move to Hearts of Oak has not been taken lightly by his former club.

“He is a very ungrateful player, we have invested in him for a very long time but see how he left us, very ungrateful player”, the Great Olympics Communications Director Saint Osei said in an interview.

“I came I saw and I Conquered. We all trying to make this world a better place to live. Leaving my dear club Great Olympics is like leaving the earth to a different planet where things are gonna be new around but talent never fades long live.

He was the top scorer for the Olympics in the just-completed 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season with 10 goals in 27 matches.

In the season before that(2020/21), he scored 9 goals in 24 games.
