The immediate past Student’s Representative Council (SRC) President of the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC- Legon), Appaw-Gyasi Nana Kwadwo has heaped praises on President Akufo-Addo for the implementation of the free SHS policy.

The first batch of students under the free SHS program completed their final exams on Friday, September 4, 2020, after COVID-19 restrictions were eased to allow final year students in the country to sit for their exit exams.

In an interview on Happy 98.9 FM, a retrospect of the recent WASSCE was held when some executive members of the Greater Accra Regional SRC were hosted by Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show (HMS). This is where Appaw-Gyasi shared his thoughts. “The President should be highly commended for implementing the free SHS policy.

“To have a policy like that for everyone to equally benefit and to be able to grow and take positions in the nation, the president has done very well and he must be commended”.

He noted that the first beneficiaries of the free SHS policy have put plans in place to meet the President and show their appreciation.

“I have spoken with Sandra who is the President of GA SRC and we are going to gather all the other SRC Presidents and pay a courtesy call to the President for making free education possible.”

He acknowledged that some parents were struggling initially to put their kids through school but the free SHS policy has made education accessible to all.
