Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has assured Ghanaians that government is doing all it can to turn the economic challenges around.
Delivering the 2022 Budget Statement to parliament today, 17th November, 2021, the minister said that the COVID-19 has brought so much economic crisis. However, the government is determined to better the lives of Ghanaians.
“We have no doubt in our capacity as a government to turn things around. We turned around the economic crisis we inherited in 2016. We’re turning around the economic crisis the pandemic brought in 2020.
The challenge is on and we’re determined to prevail. With the people behind us and the Almighty on our side, we know we shall prevail,” he said.
The Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is presenting the 2022 budget today Wednesday, November, 17th 2021.
It had previously been scheduled for November 15, 2021, however, the Second Deputy Speaker, Mr Andrew Asiamah Amoako, (Ind., Fomena) announced the date reversal on Wednesday and said the House will have other important events to attend on November 15.
The presentation of the budget is by Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
