The first trustee of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union(GPRTU) Neoplan Station,John Tetteh has appealed to the Government to construct double lane roads in order to prevent head-on collisions on roads so as to eventually reduce the number of accidents on our roads.
Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’, he said : “We need double lanes to help us avoid these accidents. I request that the president does something about our roads”.
According to him, Ghanaian drivers do their best to pay their road worthy dues and as such he expects that these monies are used to fix the roads.
He,however, cautioned drivers to reduce their speed on the roads in order to avoid road accidents. “We are not perfect so I will advise Ghanaian drivers to have patience on the roads”, he added.
On behalf of the GPRTU of Neoplan station, John Tetteh extended condolences to families who had lost their loved ones in the recent accident on the Cape-Coast-Takoradi Highway.
The gory accident, which occurred on Tuesday, January 13 involved two buses, one said to be traveling from Takoradi to Accra – with registration number GR 5704-18 – and the other – with registration number GN 3780-10 – in the opposite direction.
