Gov't initiates audit of frequency Authorisations to recover state resources

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George has instructed the Director General of the National Communications Authority to provide a detailed list of all frequency authorisations issued or renewed in the past sixty (60) days.

This move, according to a statement from the Minister is part of the government’s “Operation Recover All Loot” agenda, which aims to reclaim state resources that have been improperly allocated to private interests.

The Minister emphasized that it is the government’s mandate to ensure that all resources under the Ministry’s jurisdiction, which have been transferred in violation of laws and procedures, are recovered for the state’s benefit.

“This marks the first phase in what would be a complete audit of all frequency authorisations to ensure sanity in the use of State resources in the broadcasting space”.

The statement from the Minister assured the public of being informed of any further actions following the receipt and review of the information.
