The Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana COPEC, Duncan Amoah has said that the Government has directed the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to reverse the increase of fuel prices that was announced earlier today.

He was speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show.

“I can say with emphasis that the NPA is working to withdraw increase in fuel prices as directed by the Government, represented by the President, the Chief of Staff,Maame Frema Opare and her Deputy”, he said.

According to him, Ghanaians have always expected that fuel prices will be reduced. However, the recent happening gives the impression that those in authority have no interest in reducing fuel prices. “We were expecting to hear the news of a decrease in fuel prices, only to realize that there is an increase”, he added.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), released a memo detailing price increment in petroleum products that was to commence on Monday, December 16th 2019.
