The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has disclosed that the Government of Ghana is set to organize the National Digital Strategy Team which will oversee local technology in the country.
According to him, this team under the overall oversight of the Presidency and with support from the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Investment Promotion Center will “elevate the profile and reach of our digitization strategy across the region to unlock the unexplored economic value of the sector”.
He added that in the pursuant of this initiative, Ghana’s ultimate goal of becoming a leading hub for ICT innovation in Africa will be realized.
The Minister mentioned Ghana has seen significant improvement in digital innovations such as online passport applications, digital postal address system, digitized land registry and Money Interoperability System.
