Ghana’s Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, has made a promising announcement that the government is working on acquiring new firefighting equipment to boost the Ghana National Fire Service’s (GNFS) capabilities. This assurance came during his address at the launch of the Fire Certificate and Permit Management System (FCPMS) at the GNFS Headquarters in Accra on Thursday, October 10.
The Minister emphasized the crucial role GNFS plays in national development, particularly in protecting lives and properties. To support this, the government is implementing various plans and initiatives to procure advanced firefighting equipment and logistics.This move aims to enhance the GNFS’s effectiveness in responding to emergencies and saving lives.
“In line with this recognition our government is actively procuring a new firefighting equipment and logistics to further enhance the services capabilities. We anticipate the arrival of these new equipment soon which will undoubtedly improve our ability to save lives and protect properties”, he said.
The Ghana National Fire Service is committed to ensuring safer communities through efficient fire and rescue services. With the the new equipment procurement, Ghanaians can expect improved emergency response and protection
