The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has successfully inaugurated the Governing Councils of eight (8) Colleges of Education.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Governing Councils of Holy Child of Education, Kibi College of Education, St. Theresa’s College of Education, Mt. Mary College of Education, Tamale College of Education, St. John Bosco College of Education, Gambaga College of Education and Gbewaa College of Education for heeding to the call to serve the nation.
Speaking at the inauguration today, he appealed to the Councils to be responsible for quality assurance, efficiency and effectiveness in the execution of their duties as “The governing council is an important actor in the decision making process and most central strategic body at the institutional level”.
He also reminded the council of their mandate to train students in acquiring the requisite professional and academic competencies for teaching and in building the professional and academic capabilities of serving teachers through regular continuing education.
