As we deal with the novel Coronavirus, it looks like artistes have found a way to get over their boredom by throwing shade and beefing with each other.
Beef may sound like a normal trend in the music industry but not when it’s from gospel artistes.
Gospel singer, Patience Nyarko, in a recent interview on an Accra-based radio station, questioned why Joe Mettle is hyped so much by music lovers especially since he hasn’t achieved anything worth noting.
She stated that if the Church of Pentecost and Methodist Church are to come out with a directive that no musician should sing their songs, she is certain that Joe Mettle will not have a stand because he does not have enough English songs written by himself.
As if the jabs she is receiving from Mettle fans on Twitter are not enough, Joe Mettle’s alma mater, Pentecost University College(PUC), has taken up the fight for their jewel singer by throwing shade back at Patience Nyarko.
A post sighted on PUC’s official Facebook page read, “Whatever you choose to do, do it well. If you are a cleaner, clean well. If you are a dentist, do your work well. If you sing #Pentecostal songs, ensure it moves the crowd and draws millions to Christ. Whatever it is, be known for excellence”.
Obviously, this post would not have been complete without the hashtags #JoeMettle, #ProudAlumni and #Empowered. Will Patience Nyarko throw another bomb to keep her beef going? Will Joe Mettle come out to carry his own cross? Well, time will tell.
