Gomoa Central NPP Constituency chairman apologizes for campaigning against his MP

Over 200 NPP supporters switch to independent Joseph Kofi Damtse's camp in Assin South

Gomoa Central NPP Constituency chairman, Philemon Darko has appealed to the Party hierarchy to forgive him after campaigning against the party’s Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Naana Eyia Quansah.

Philimon Darko was suspended by the Party after he was heard urging constituents to vote for the Party’s Flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kwame Asare Obeng an independent candidate instead of the incumbent, Naana Eyia Quansah who is seeking re-election as Member of Parliament on the ticket of the Party in a leaked video that went viral.

Addressing Party executives in a press conference on September 1, 2024, he appealed to the Party hierarchy to forgive and reinstate him.

According to him, he was not expecting the video tape to come out and admitted to the fact that the voice on the video tape was him.

“After working very hard to bring Naana Eyia Quansah to ascend to the Parliamentary seat, she forgot to remember me and that is the reason why I campaign against her”, he added.

“When I am forgiven and reinstated as the Chairman, i will still work with the MP and the rest of the party executives to secure victory for the party ahead of the 2024 general elections”.
