Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) celebrates a remarkable milestone as Mary Anna Adu-Gyamfi, Senior Sales Manager, adds another feather to her cap with her induction into the Ghana Psychology Council as a Licensed Lay Practitioner and the Ghana Academy of Christian Counsellors.
Known for her exceptional contribution to GMABC’s growth through successful sales strategies for YFM (Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi) and Happy 98.9FM, Mrs. Adu-Gyamfi has consistently shown excellence in driving revenue and building strong client relationships across all radio brands. Her innovative approach to sales and deep understanding of the media has significantly contributed to the stations’ commercial success.
The induction ceremony took place on Monday, November 20, 2024, at the Physicians and Surgeons premises, where Mrs. Adu-Gyamfi joined 606 professionals inducted into various fields of psychology and counselling. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Angela Ofori-Atta, Chairperson for the Board of Ghana Psychology Council, who spoke on the theme “Professionalism in the Training and Practice of Psychology: The Role of the Regulator.” Notable dignitaries present included Anna Plange, Ag. Registrar of GPC, heads of regulatory bodies and professional associations, and a representative on behalf of the Minister of Health, Hon. Bernard Okoe Boye.
“Mary Anna’s achievement is truly inspiring,” says Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcasting at GMABC. “Her dedication to both professional excellence and personal growth shows the calibre of talent we are proud to have at GMABC. We celebrate this significant milestone with her.”
Speaking about her achievement, Mrs. Adu-Gyamfi states, “While I continue to cherish my role driving success for our radio brands at GMABC, this certification opens a new avenue for me to serve our community. The support from my GMABC family throughout this journey has been incredible.”
Her counselling certification follows the completion of her education at the College of Counselling and Psychology (now the Oheneba-Dornyo University College of Counselling Psychology). Additionally, Mrs. Adu-Gyamfi received certification from the Ghana Academy of Christian Counsellors, an institution dedicated to integrating biblical principles into counselling practice. The Academy, located off the Haatso-Atomic road, equips counsellors to address life’s challenges with a combination of spiritual wisdom and practical counselling tools.
While maintaining her integral role in driving GMABC’s commercial success, Mrs. Adu-Gyamfi will pursue her counselling practice separately, bringing the same level of dedication and excellence to both professions.
