Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) has collaborated with Donewell Insurance to launch the Automobile and Road Safety month, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to reduce the rate of road accidents, and educate the public on road safety.
This initiative is tailored to educate Ghanaians, particularly road users on the menace of road accidents and measures to help prevent it or reduce the rate at which road accidents occur in Ghana.
During the launch of the Automobile and Road Safety series, George Amponsah, the Sales Manager of GMABC, indicated, “We have a huge platform that can reach out to majority of Ghanaians and we believe it’s important to use the opportunity to educate Ghanaians on road accidents and automobile in order to help reduce the rate of road accidents. Our expectation is to reach out to every Ghanaian and educate them on road safety and automobile insurance.”
With the ultimate aim of reducing road carnages in the country, he noted collaborations with various stakeholders; the Ghana police service, Ministry of Roads and Highways and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) will help sink road safety behavior in the public during and after this festive season.
He stated most people do not conduct the basic checks on their cars before they drive it out of their homes, this he opined contributes to some road accidents in the country, advising listeners and viewers to stay glued to the GMABC Automobile and Road Safety month.
The General Manager for Donewell Insurance, Robert Boateng considered it a privileged to collaborate with the Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) for the Automobile and Road Safety month. He emphasized on the need for vehicle owners to purchase insurance policies to forestall the consequences one may suffer in the incidence of an accident.
He encouraged every Ghanaian to participate and play their role in ensuring road carnages are reduced, if possible prevented on our roads.
“We believe this initiative is necessary and we need to contribute to help reduce the rate of road accidents hence, our partnership with GMABC,” he emphasized.
