GIS pledges adequate security at the borders ahead of December 7 elections

Ghana Immigration Service Controller General, Lawyer Kwame Ansah Takyi has sent a word of caution to anyone planning to cause mayhem and confusion during the December 7th 2024 elections.

According to him, security agencies have put a lot of efforts including sleepless nights planning to ensure there is adequate security in the country, before, during and after the elections.

‘’We are having sleepless night planning the security of this elections, no one should come and disturb our peace. I want to assure you that, whoever causes mayhem we shall deal with them, create confusion we shall deal with them.’’

Speaking during an engagement with the National Elections Security TaskForce and the Ghana Union of Traders’ Association (GUTA) Kwame Takyi mentioned that, the immigration service will ensure adequate safety at the various borders in the country.

He cautioned various political parties actors not to cause mayhem during the elections.

‘’We will not allow anyone to destroy the peace that we enjoy as Ghanaians. This advise goes to the principal political actors who allow people to cause mayhem’’
