Ghanaian international, Ernest Nuamah has been nominated for the prestigious CAF Young Player of the Year award. The 20-year-old winger has gained recognition for his outstanding performance during the 2022/23 football season and the ongoing campaign.
Nuamah faces tough competition from talented players such as Alio from Senegal, Souleymane, Gift Orban from Nigeria, Bilal El Khannouss from Morocco, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli from Morocco, Pape Diop from Senegal, Papa Amadou Diallo, Lamine Camara from Senegal, Amara Diuf from Senegal, and Dango Ouattara from Burkina Faso.
The Ghanaian star rose to prominence during his first full season in European football with Nordsjaelland, where he won three prestigious awards. He was named Young Player of the Year, Best Player for Spring (chosen by coaches), and Player of the Season (selected by fellow players) in the Danish top-flight league.
Impressively, Nuamah scored 15 goals and provided 4 assists in 34 games for Nordsjaelland. His exceptional performance caught the attention of French giants Olympique Lyon, who secured his services in the summer transfer window.
Nuamah made his debut for the Ghana national team in June and has since become a regular player, scoring three goals for the Black Stars. He also showcased his skills at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, contributing a goal in three games.
The CAF Young Player of the Year award ceremony will take place on Monday, December 11, 2023, in Marrakesh, Morocco. It will be an exciting event where the winner will be announced among the ten talented nominees.
