Leader of the West Africa Elders and Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has commended Ghana for its successful elections over the years since the inception of the fourth republic in 1992.
According to him, Ghana’s electoral processes is credible and he is optimistic that, “this year’s election would not be different from the previous years” by all standards. He says Ghana is a good example of the practice of democracy.
‘’For a successful elections, all the citizens in the country are involved, if all the citizens want to do the right thing, then be assured that the elections will be very successful without any problem’’, he added.
He believes that, the success of the elections is also dependent on the institutions in charge of the organisation and management of the entire electoral process.
He made these remarks at the Emergency Command Centre at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday October 8, when he met with the National Election Security Taskforce (NESTF).
