Ghana’s Chef Smith reportedly sets new Guinness World Record for cook-a-thon

Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith, known as Chef Smith, has received a certificate from the Guinness World Records for the longest solo cooking marathon.

He announced this achievement at a press conference today, Tuesday, July 2, at the La Palm Beach Hotel.

Chef Smith began his cooking marathon on February 1, 2024, and continued for 820 hours, ending on March 6, 2024, although his original goal was 1,200 hours.

At the press conference, Chef Smith stated, “I am deeply humbled and honored to announce that I am now the new world record holder for the cook-a-thon.”

He made the attempt after another Ghanaian chef, Failatu, who ultimately did not succeed.

Despite not receiving as much support from Ghanaians for his attempt compared to Chef Failatu and others, those who followed Chef Smith believed he would ultimately succeed.
