The 30th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) began today, August 26, 2024, at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

This annual event brings together key football stakeholders from across the country to discuss the future of Ghanaian football.

Delegates arrived by noon to participate in group meetings, each focusing on various thematic areas crucial to the sport’s growth and progress.

One of the significant announcements at the Congress came from GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who presided over a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new gym and swimming pool at the Soccer Center of Excellence.

Speaking about the new developments, the FA boss, Kurt Okraku confirmed that the GFA has the funds necessary to complete these and other facilities, including a 40-seater hostel that was launched earlier today.

The completion of these facilities is expected to provide a significant boost to football development, offering better training and accommodation options for athletes and officials.

The Congress, which spans two days, also featured a friendly football match between the Executive Council and the Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen, as well as a match between administrators from Premier League and Division One League clubs.

On Day 2, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the main Congress will be held at 11:00am at the Hon. E.T. Mensah Hall, Ghanaman, Prampram.
