Ghanaians have been urged to embrace and protect their rich cultural heritage, encompassing their language, delectable cuisine, distinctive attire, colorful festivals, eco-tourism, and time-honored traditions.

Nana Otuo Owoahene Acheampong, Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture, said this at the media launch and inauguration of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2024 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC) in Techiman, Bono East Region.

Nana Acheampong’s call emphasizes the urgent need for Ghanaians to safeguard their cultural identity against the erosive influences of Western or foreign lifestyles, which threaten to undermine their unique heritage.

By embracing and celebrating their cultural roots, Ghanaians can ensure a lasting legacy for future generations and solidify their nation’s place in the global cultural landscape.
