Ghanaian referee Charles Bulu could not finish with his officiating duties in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Cote d’Ivoire and Ethiopia after collapsing in the 80th minute.
The FIFA referee had to be stretched off the field and the fourth referee taking over remaining minutes of the game.
Ivory Coast was leading Ethiopia 3-1 at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny when the incident happened.
Referee Charles Bulu fell to the ground in the 80th minute, but could not stand on his feet and had to be helped by the players before being attended to by the medics.
According to reports, the match has been postponed and will be played at a later date.
