Ghanaian duo, who play for Rivers United FC, Paul Acquah and Mutawakilu Seidu lost the Nigeria Premier League title after playing out a 1-1 draw with Enyimba at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos last Sunday.

The draw means Enyimba topped the NPFL Super Six playoffs table with nine points from five games.

Rivers United also finished with the same points as Enyimba but had to make do with second position owing to an inferior goal difference of one.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, United forward, Paul Acquah admitted losing the league title by a goal difference of one was painful but his side is now focused on next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

With this outcome, Enyimba will once again represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League with Rivers United will also competing in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
