Bankroller of Nzema Kotoko SC and Executive Council (EXCO) member hopeful for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo has said that he will not hesitate to resign from the EXCO should anyone hinder him from discharging his duties.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports with Ohene Brenya-Bampoe he said: “I will be more than happy to walk out of Exco if I ever feel that my ideas and advice are not being used to change our game, or someone is interfering with our work. I am a very principled person.”
He however asserted that Ghana’s football is in a shambolic state because of the conflict of interest. “We are here because of the personal interests of [football people]. Why must it be so?. Why should an association suffer because of the personal interests of a few people? Sometimes there is a case involving the FA in court and you won’t find a single member representing the FA because of personal interests in that case.”
“It’s very important to be guided by the rules and statutes and I do that every day in my work. When making decisions, I always ask myself if it is my own money, how will I spend it?. You have to ask yourself such questions when taking decisions,” he added.
Mr. Addo opined that he is into football to serve the people and the nation. “All those who know me will tell you that, I’m a straightforward person. I want to serve the nation.”
