Lawyer George Ankomah Mensah an aspirant for the presidency of Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said that he can make the GFA a profitable business venture.
Speaking on ‘Anopa Bosuo’ sports on Happy FM, the Presidential Aspirants revealed that, “The English Premier League (EPL) was made big by ‘non-football people’ and as a country, we can emulate it. These people do not own a football team but they have been able to turn the EPL into the multi-billion dollar industry it is now”.
According to him, “it is now the time for someone who is business-minded and has done work with businessmen, has experience in international business and investment and has been involved in corporate practice for over 30years to take the reins of leadership of the GFA. These coupled with a vision is a great way to make Ghanaian football profitable and attractive,” he added.
He suggested that, as a football country, we can introduce the purchasing of Season football tickets which is one of the innovative ways of making money for the FA.
In sports, such as association football or American football, a season ticket grants the holder access to all regular-season home games for one season without additional charges. The ticket usually offers a discounted price over purchasing a ticket for each of the home games for a season individually.
Lawyer Ankoma Mensah is a legal luminary with about 30 years experience and a football administrator who is poised to change the football game into a football business brand.
