The two times Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brigadier-General Nunoo-Mensah has indicated that Ghana will see no peace, if the vast majority of the youth continue to flood the streets without jobs.
He said the situation with youth unemployment is dangerous for the nation and not the issues of insecurity being bandied about in relations to the United States of America building a base in the country.
Mr. Nunoo Mensah made this suggestion in an interaction with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah, host of the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Accra-based Happy FM.
The former National Security Adviser to the late president Prof. John Evans Atta –Mills minces no words to say as afar injustice continue to exist in the world there will be insecurity.
He explained that the biggest threat to Ghana’s security is the teeming unemployed youth on the street.
According to him, ‘the situation where our leaders continue to be worried about how to secure their privileges at the detriment of the large majority of the youth is the biggest security threat to the security of the nation.’
He noted that as the African continent is moving no where and there seems to be no hope for the African youth.
