Ghana Police dismisses rumors of IGP Dampare's forced leave

The Ghana Police has refuted media reports claiming that Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been asked to go on leave and hand over his duties to his deputy, Christian Tetteh Yohuno.

In a press release dated June 30, 2024, and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi the public has been asked to disregard the reports.

The statement further emphasized that Dr. George Akuffo Dampare remains dedicated to his patriotic duty of leading the Ghana Police Service, in accordance with the mandate given to him by the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
