The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its steadfast commitment to upholding law and order at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) highly anticipated flagbearer contest, which is set for Saturday, November 4, 2023.
With over 200,000 delegates representing diverse regions of the country expected to participate in the election, the Police Service has been actively preparing to ensure that the process is conducted smoothly, peacefully, and without any disruptions.
In a statement released by the Police Service and signed by its director, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, they emphasized their dedication to providing adequate security not only during the election but also in the aftermath, assuring the general public of their commitment to safeguarding the proceedings. ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi stated, “Adequate security will be provided during and after the elections to ensure a peaceful and orderly process.”
The Ghana Police Service further expressed its resolve to collaborate closely with all stakeholders involved in the electoral process to “guarantee peace, security, law, and order during the election.” This commitment reflects the institution’s proactive measures to preempt any potential disturbances and uphold the democratic principles upon which the nation’s political system is built.
