President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that Ghana now has competent lawyers who represent the state in international courts.
According to him, the NPP administration has improved the country’s judicial sector since assuming office.
Addressing lawyers at the Public Sector Lawyers Conference in Accra on November 5, the President stated that the Government has supported lawyers by giving them scholarships for advanced studies, adding that, his administration has extended to legal departments across state owned institutions doubling the strength staff where 600 public lawyers are ready to serve.
“Since 2017, we have made significant strides in strengthening the service. We have recruited 199 State Attorneys including 70 others whose appointments will soon be formalised.This recruitment represents almost half of the lawyers currently in the office of the Attorney General”, he emphasized.
