Ghana Medical Association denies plans for strike

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has clarified that it has not announced any plan for industrial action.

In a statement signed by GMA President, Dr. Frank Serebour, on Tuesday, October 8, the association expressed solidarity with Organised Labour in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey).

Despite this, the GMA assured the public that all its members will continue to provide full services without any disruptions.

“Therefore, all members are expected to continue providing full services without interruptions,” part of the statement read.

The statement also noted that the National Executive Council (NEC) would issue further updates as needed.

Meanwhile, Organised Labour has reaffirmed its commitment to proceed with its planned strike against galamsey on Thursday, October 10.
