Senior sports journalist, Veronica Commey has said that, Ghana no longer qualifies to be tagged a football nation because of the current state of football in the country.
According to Veronica Commey, there is no single football nation in the world whose senior national team have won only one game in their previous three continental tournaments.
Veronica’s comment comes on the back of the Black Stars abysmal performance and group stage elimination from the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
“Ghana is no longer a football nation so we should stop calling ourselves that. This is because there is not a single football nation in the world that their senior national team will fail to win only one game in their previous three continental tournaments,” she said on Happy FM’s Happy Sports with Ohene Bampoe Brenya.
Meanwhile the GFA has announced a committee to search for the new coach after the sacking of Chris Hughton.
