The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council has announced the Redaach Memorial Hotel in Tamale as the designated venue for the upcoming Elective Congress on September 27, 2023.
Scheduled to commence at 9 am, the Congress will serve as a platform for electing new Executives who will lead and guide the Ghana Football Association’s operations over the next four years.
The Congress’s primary focus will be the election of the GFA President and Executive Council Members from various leagues, including the Premier League, Division One League, and Women’s Premier League.
Incumbent President Kurt Okraku is vying for a second term and has garnered substantial support from 10 Regional Football Association chairmen.
His main contender for the presidency is expected to be former GFA Vice President George Afriyie, who previously faced Okraku in the closely contested 2019 presidential election.
The outcome of this Congress will determine the leadership that will shape the direction of Ghanaian football in the next four years.
