Aspirant for Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association, Randy Abbey has revealed reasons why he opted to contest for the Executive Council seat instead of the presidency in the upcoming Ghana Football Association elections.
The former Communications Director of the FA, said his decision to contest for the Executive Council was strategic as it will enable him to contribute and get involved in the decision making process in Ghana football.
Randy in an interview on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports gave these reasons, “I think the Executive Council is more important and that is why I decided to contest for the seat. The Executive Committee in the past administration did not perform their duties to their best abilities, that is why things went bad”.
“I heard people contesting for the presidential position and I saw it as a crowded field. I couldn’t also compete due to my academics because I was persuading a Doctorate degree and hopefully in December I will be rewarded with a doctorate degree”.
He also urged the delegates to consider his capabilities and vote for him in the elections.
“The delegates know that some of us can do the job and I urge them to vote for those who can the job”.
The Executive Council elections will be held on Thursday 24 October, 2019 at the Ghana Football Association.
