Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah names 23-man squad ahead of AFCON qualifier

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah, has named a 23-man squad ahead of the double header against South Africa and São Tomé in the AFCON 2021 qualifier to be played next month.

Kwesi Appiah handed debut call-ups to seven players by names, Real Mallorca midfielder, Iddrisu Baba Mohammed, Torric Jibril( TP Mazambe), Razark Abalora (Azam), Mohammed Salisu( Real Valladolid, Spain), Christopher Antwi-Adjei (SC Paderborn, Germany), Shafiu Mumuni of AshantiGold and Mohammed Kudus (FC Nordsjaelland, Denmark) .

Some key players such as Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan, John Boye, Caleb Ekuban and Afriyie Acquah missed out of the list in the current call-up.

Ghana host South Africa on 14 November, 2019 at the Cape Coast Stadium in the opening game of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team will depart to São Tomé for the second group game in a few days time.
