Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has stated that, without comprehensive reforms, Ghana is projected to achieve upper-middle-income status only after 2050.
Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue currently underway at the Accra International Conference Centre on Monday March 2025, he emphasized that with the introduction of ambitious reforms, Ghana could attain this status by 2038.
According to Ato Forson, Ghana cannot wait until 2050 to become an upper-middle-income country.
He emphasized, “We have no choice but to introduce measures to reset our economy. If we are to do well and introduce very ambitious reforms, Ghana will become an upper-middle-income country before the year 2038.”
