Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Friday (October 13) that citizens of Ghana can now travel to South Africa without a visa for a duration of three months (90 days).
According to the directives, anyone with a regular Ghanaian passport who wants to stay in South Africa for longer than 90 days must apply for a visa.
“The Republic of Ghana and the Republic of South Africa have entered into an agreement on a visa waiver regime for holders of ordinary passport,” the press statement said.
“The agreement takes effect from 1 November 2023,” it added.
“Travellers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without recourse to work.”
