The Ghana Amputee Football League trophy tour landed at the offices of Ghana’s number one sports radio station, Happy FM in Accra on Friday, April 27.
The highly anticipated trophy tour took off on Tuesday as organizers of the forthcoming Amputee League touched down in Tema Oil Refinery.
The president of the Ghana Amputee Football League Board (GAFLB), Dr Nii Mensah presented the trophy to the Managing Director of the TOR, Hon Isaac Osei, who was very appreciative of the works of the newly constituted board.
The tour took a second turn to Metro TV in Accra, where they met the leading sports anchors such as Phil Johnny Quartey and Michael Oduro, who received the trophy on behalf of the station.
And on Friday, Mr Daniel Mensah, who is also the Chairman of Dan-Devan group, presented the trophy to the management of Happy FM, and expressed his appreciation with how well the company has received them.
Director of Radio, Mr Timothy Karikari, who received the trophy on behalf of the station, commended the league board for being the first group to be able to professionally organize football league for amputee football in Ghana and Africa at large.
The league will see eight teams from the various regions competing for the coveted trophy.
The Greater Accra, Ashanti Region, Eastern Region and Central Region were the selected regions for the league.
Winners of the competition will take home a trophy and a cash of $20,000 while 2nd and 3rd place teams will pocket $15,000 and $10000 respectively.
The league is slated to kick-off on Saturday, May 5 2018.
